African Somerset, in collaboration with Two Willows Vineyard, is very excited to invite you to "Swamp Braai" where you can enjoy an authentic African Experience within the beautiful surroundings of the Somerset Swamps (Levels).
Braaing is all about enjoying the company of family and friends while cooking over an open-fire, listening to great music and soaking up "lekker vibes"! This year guests can look forward to:
African-inspired BBQ - All cooked on Open Fire and inside the belly of our bespoke Somerset Smoker called Kubu (The Hippo) - see pics below.
Live Band - We are very excited to have "Baraka" joining us to play their unique combination of West African Highlife and South African Township. The line up features musicians from Ghana, Zambia, Dominica and Ireland, providing an exciting mix of dance rhythms, soaring melodies and funky grooves.
Live DJ - This year "DJ Wane B - Groovemix" will be playing a combination of traditional and contempory African beats along with other well known classics.
Bar - Our very own "Somerset Shebeen" will be in full swing selling a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments throughout the day. Here you will find some of Somerset's finest cider and various imported African beers.
Games - The imfamous "haybale mountain" will be back for the kids to enjoy along with plenty of space for kids to run riot.
Camping - Overnight camping on Saturday night for tents and small camper vans is avaiable on request.
